“I never knew singing could be this easy!”

The Body
Your body is the vehicle for your voice. To achieve your highest potential, you need the best possible coordination of your whole body, not just your vocal cords.
We all develop unconscious bad habits in how we use our body. Because each part affects the whole, those bad patterns of use can have a huge impact on how well your body coordinates, impeding your singing.
To reach your highest vocal potential, you need to identify your bad habits and replace them with healthy coordination instead.
As a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique, I can identify by sight the subtle habits and tensions that affect your vocal coordination. For many students, this is the missing piece of the puzzle. When they release the bad habits holding them back, their singing progresses by leaps and bounds.
In voice lessons, I can:
- Identify your specific bad patterns of use
- Use a gentle hands-on touch to ease unconscious tensions
- Free the rib cage and train reflexive breathing
- Expand your innate awareness of your own body
- Customize activities to teach healthy, new habits
For those who want to free their bodies and optimize how they sing, I also teach Alexander Technique lessons in person and via Skype. Please contact me at alicia@thebricelandstudio.com for more information.
